Totally agree with the part about Season 2. It had just the right balance of drama and a focus on their looks. The contestants on Season 2 set the bar really high too. While 4 is great and one of the best, it’s also one of the more negative seasons because of the fighting between you know who, and its winner is now controversial, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that being the very first season someone watches.Ngl there were some moments that could have defo been quite dramatic had RuPaul pushed further or just let the queens keep chatting. But she like cut them off and moved on which I was surprised about. It was still pretty good though. Mistress really carried with the twins having a bunch of random remarks but they weren’t annoying.She got a main character edit, fierce looks/mug, and and a set-up friendship with MIB. Plus, nobody's actually gone home in a premiere since S11, and 13-14 had fakeouts. I'm trying to compare Irene's elimination to Daya/Orion's eliminations to see if it's a fake out, too. Irene did post-elim press (EW, Billboard, Queerty, etc), but Daya barely ...Beyond the fact that none of these performers have anything to prove, some old-school queens - Lady Bunny and Coco Peru come to mind- still try to avoid being filmed/photographed outside of their drag character, to maintain the illusion (or kayfabe, to borrow the term from wrestling).
