Faith does grant you a lot of passive healing which make you decently tanky and investing in faith is still viable to increase blessed weapon damage.Clouds, water veil, warding, and cloak are all useful spells that don't rely upon having a high MAG. A little bit of offensive magic (soul arrow, etc.) also works wonders in worlds 1 + 2, even with low MAG. You may also want to consider 18 INT for three spells slots so you can use cursed weapon (see below). Both boost magic damage. Infuse a light weapon like an estoc with magic scaling to use incase you needed to melee. Note the build is weak against anti magic players and faith users (faith increases magic resistance) and certain anti magic tank builds. In pvp your disadvantaged in melee so keep your distance and stay unpredictable while casting. Ok, so I am still pretty much a newbie to this game. So far I beat 1-1, 2-1, and 4-1. I am playing as basically a pure Mage. My question is for a Mage is it worth it to build any other stats besides Will, Magic, and possibly vitality. I am especially interested in Faith as it seems there are some level 16 faith miracles that are worthwhile.I ran a faith build using the Mirdan Hammer and blew through the game. (Dropped by the scale miners, or found in 5-2, the Swamp of Sorrow.) The hammer hits hard and has a stun, the health regen was handy and the miracle Evacuate was so useful I try to get it on other builds.More ordinary than the previous builds, but no less effective. Dark sorceries were another innovation for this addition to the Souls saga. As with any new addition to the series, Dark Magic is sufficiently broken. Place 50 into Intelligence, and 45 into Faith. Royalty is not really "all that" though. All it does is come with a mana regenerating ring. You can also get it by trading a telescope to a birds nest right after beating the first boss. .
